Movies we watched..

Hello everyone!

We rented some movies but not as many as we usually do in last few months.. Time was not available for us to watch more movies that we would like to.. But we managed to watch three good movies this week; "Derailed", "The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio", "King Kong" and last week, we watched "Chicken Little", "Dreamer: Inspired by a true story", "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", "Just Friends", "Prime", "Yours, Mine and Ours"..

Derailed was pretty good at the ending.. At the beginning, Bucky said it seems to be a boring movie because it had a slow starting but I didn't give up, I wanted to see what would happen and I am glad I did stuck out. It was pretty good..

The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio was based on a true story.. I think it is a good movie for people who likes movies without too much action/violence, which I do.. At the ending of the movie, they had updates on each children of The Ryan's.. The story was written by Terry "Tuffy" Ryan.. You can see the website there is about this movie..

King Kong was a LONG movie! I was surprised that Ryan didn't get bored while watching the movie.. He LOVES King Kong, He would want all the toy figurines which he has gotten one of King Kong. So when he realize that we had the movie so he wanted to watch the movie with Justin.. They had few minutes where they were hiding their eyes because of "scary" points.. At the ending, Ryan was upset when he realized that King Kong had died.. He thought that King Kong was going to be alive but nope, he died.. Poor him..

Chicken Little was cute.. Ryan enjoyed that..

Dreamer was good also.. The young girl was determined for that horse.. For those who are animal lovers or horse lover, this is a good movie..

Just Friends was Ok.. Ryan Reynolds is not an actor that I would love to watch again..

Harry Potter, What can I say.. It's enjoyable to watch with all that cool stuff they comes up with in that movie.. :)

Prime was funny! I laughed at some scenes but the ending, I didn't quite catch what happened! Oh well!

Yours, Mine and Ours was cute, Tori liked that one..

I'm going to rent those movies this week and MAKE time to watch those movies; "Broken Flowers", "Dying Gaul", "In the Mix", "Love's Long Journey", "Pride & Prejudice" and those movies when they come out in April; "Bee Season", "Chroncile of Narnia", "Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold", "Fun with Dick and Jane", "The Greatest Game Ever Played", "Little Manahattan", "Match Point", "An Unfinished Life".

Who gives a @#$% about profanity?

Hello Everyone!

GOOD MORNING!

How do you feel about profanity?? I do say Sh*t, D*mn occasionally but not in every sentence I say each day. I saw this link on CNN and decided that it was good thing to post about..

Justin, my 14 years old son cusses so much that I can't believe how much he says it in each of his sentence.. I told him, first of all he is not old enough to be cussing and second of all it was so stupid to put all that cussing in his vocabulary.. I have fussed and fussed at him to mind his language because he cusses at almost everything and everyone..

It's sad world that we are in right now.. People having NO judgement to mind their language and what world we live in right now is gone wild.. Almost everyone is doing things that makes them look more stupider than ever..

Ant and the Grasshopper story..

OLD VERSION
The ant works hard, in the withering heat, all summer long. He builds his house and stores supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks that the ant is a fool. He laughs, dances and plays the summer away, preparing nothing for the coming winter.
Winter comes, the ant is safe and warm the grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
THE MORAL TO THE STORY: BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF
*****************
NEW VERSION
The ant works hard, in the withering heat, all summer long. He builds his house and stores supplies for the winter
The grasshopper thinks that the ant is a fool. He laughs, dances and plays the summer away, preparing nothing for the coming winter.

Winter comes the ant is safe and warm. .

The shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and fed, while others are cold and starving! CBS, NBC, ABC & CNN show up to provide pictures of shivering grasshoppers, next to a video of an ant in his comfortable home, with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast! How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer this way?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah, with the grasshopper. Everyone cries when they sing "It's Not Easy Being Green".
Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house, where the news stations film the group singing "We Shall Overcome".

Jesse then has the group pray to God, for the grasshopper's sake, and reminds the group to contribute to his group, so that he can "continue the fight" for grasshoppers, everywhere! Ted Kennedy & John Kerry exclaim, in an interview with Tom Brokaw, that the ant has gotten rich, off the back of the poor grasshopper! Both call for an immediate tax hike, to make the ant pay "his fair share"!

Finally, the EEOC drafts the "Economic Equity For Grasshoppers Act", retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire the proportionate number of green bugs and , having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his house is confiscated by the government.

Hillary Clinton gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper, in a defamation suit against the ant. The case is tried in federal court, with a jury comprised of unemployed welfare recipients.

Surprise! The ant loses the case!

The story ends, as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food, while the government house he lives in (which happens to be the ant's old house) crumbles around him, due to lack of maintenance! The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found, dead, in a drug-related incident. The house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders, who terrorize this once-peaceful neighborhood.

THE END

** I agree with this story BUT not those democrat people that has been named here.. It is actually REPUBLICIANS that should be named here etc because they don't really work hard for their money.. Sheesh!

Two Sparrows in Hurricane!

Got this link and I think Bucky and I fit in this song.. We were young when we got married, had kids at age of 18 (Mary) and 19 (Bucky) and we went through the similiar things what the song has sung and now we are in our 30's. We are finding our way in the hurricane of life. We are FLYING and we are getting to our point..

If anyone said you won't last, Love just will keep you going.. I know because I have been told time to time that our marriage won't last and we did have rough bumps to overcome but here we are.. As long as you are committed for it to work!

Artist/Band: Tucker Tanya
Lyrics for Song: Two Sparrows in a Hurricane
Lyrics for Album: Can't Run From Yourself

She's fifteen and he's barely driving a car
She's got his ring and he's got the keys to her heart
It's just matter of time
They'll spread their wings and fly
Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will
There's a baby crying and one more on the way
There's a wolf at the door with a big stack of bills
They can't pay
The clouds are dark and the wind is high
But they can see the other side
Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will
She's eighty-three and he's barely driving a car
She's got his ring and he's got the key to her heart
It's just a matter of time
They'll spread their wings and fly
Like two sparrows in a hurricane
Trying to find their way
With a head full of dreams
And faith that can move anything
They've heard it's all uphill
But all they know is how they feel
The world says they'll never make it, love says they will

Now I have new meaning for Live Laugh Love!

Hello everyone again,

I'm in posting mood tonight.. so bear with me :)

I had forgotten about Aaron Tippin as I used to LOVE his songs then I had just forgotten about him until tonight when I was checking out singers and saw the name Aaron Tippin! OH MY GOODNESS! So I had to see what songs he has under his name and saw this song..

It's PERFECT for my motto, "Live, Laugh, Love" So now I have two country singers to quote from! Way to go, Aaron!

Artist/Band: Tippin Aaron
Lyrics for Song: Love Like There's No Tomorrow
Lyrics for Album: Stars and Stripes (Aaron Tippin/Thea Tippin)

Right now I'm gonna take you in my arms
Hold you closer and tighter then I ever have
I'm gonna say all the things that I thought could wait
Now I realize that later could be a little too late
Baby let's love like there's no tomorrow
Live for every moment
Laugh at least a little every day
If we see the sunrise in the morning
Is impossible to say
So let's love (Let's Love)
Like there's no tomorrow (No Tomorrow)
Today
From now on every time we kiss
It's gonna mean so much more when I touch your lips
When I give myself to you, baby I won't hold nothin' back
'Cause there's nothing I wouldn't give to make every minute last
Baby let's love like there's no tomorrow
Live for every moment
Laugh at least a little every day
If we see the sunrise in the morning
Is impossible to say
So let's love (Let's Love)
Like there's no tomorrow (No Tomorrow)
Today
Baby let's love like there's no tomorrow
Live for every moment
Laugh at least a little every day
If we see the sunrise in the morning
Is impossible to say
So let's love (Let's Love)
Like there's no tomorrow (No Tomorrow)
Today
Oh baby let's love (Let's Love)
Like there's no tomorrow (No Tomorrow)
Today

This song is dedicated to my children Justin, Tori and Ryan

Being a young mom at 18 years old, I was excited that I have my own child that I can call my own but at the same time, afraid of how good I would be at Mothering.. When I had my first look at Justin, my heart melted and I was so excited I'm a Mom after 9 months of waiting and carrying the baby around. :)

Now I look at Justin, He's nearly 6 feet tall, 180 lbs and almost 15 years old. I wonder where did time goes!? When did he get this tall and about ready to go into High School? How come he knows so much about life at age of 14 that I didn't even know until I was much older? I want my children to ENJOY their childhood being YOUNG not having knowledge of adult..

Tori came and Ryan came.. Tori being almost 13 years old, 120 lbs and 5 feet 4 tall going into 8th grade, Ryan being 60 lbs, 4 feet tall and almost ready to be 2nd grader.

Each child bring that special feeling and bond to me and I love them all dearly.. I am just saddened that the world is rushing and rushing, children getting to know too much of things at younger age each generation. I don't want my children to know so much of things because being adult is such a LONG TIME!! Being a child don't last much longer! WHY, WHY do the people want our children to know things at their age when they are supposed to play with toys and not knowing about violence, drugs, sex and whatnot that's out there in the ugly world!

All I want my children to be able to do this..

"So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give 'em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little."

Artist/Band: Dean Billy
Lyrics for Song: Let Them Be Little
Lyrics for Album: Let Them Be Little

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand.
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.
So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give 'em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes.
An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see.
Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is:
Please, let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.
So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give 'em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.
Let them be little.

Posts from other blog

Hey everyone,

This song is what I feel about Bucky.. I know I have said over and over on my blog how much I really love Bucky and how much I am grateful to have him in my life.. Sandy post this song on her blog for Robert but I wanted Bucky to know that I feel the same for him and I often watch him sleep while I got up before him studying his facial features and how he looks while he's sleeping..

Sandy also posted this and I recalled that I felt this long time ago when I was not in relationship with someone that I was with. It is always hard when someone chose to leave the relationship while the other person was not ready or didn't realize the relationship was in trouble.

Everyone, tell your loved one how much you love them because it is really important for that person to know you love them no matter how often you say it each day. It does make difference in the relationship when you do and say things that shows your loved one that you really do love them and you want them to be happy as well as you are.. I have learned this throughout my marriage and it won't be long before Bucky and I celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in October..

I went through the links and found this song, I want to post this song for Bucky.. He has been trying to find jobs in his field where he had gone to PSTCC and worked so hard to be able to get a college degree and to be so frustrated with people saying, "You don't fit our criteria" even though their requirement and what Bucky has took at college are the same things..

Bucky, I hope you will find this encouraging.. I know you can do your job the best you can and just hang in there and you will fly!

Artist/Band: Martina McBride
Lyrics for Song: Do What You Do
Lyrics for Album: Emotion

Slow down, that's right
Give it all you got
Yeah, you got the right stuff
Kick back
Let go
Trust yourself you know
Yeah what you got is good enough

Hey don't give em what they think they want
Cause they don't have a clue
Yeah if you really wanna give em something different
Something to sink their teeth into

Well baby, you just do what you do
All eyes were on Alice
They laughed and made her cry
Yeah she was a little different
But hey you know what?
She found a way to fly
You see Alice She got her strength from the inside

Hey don't give em what they think they want
Cause they don't have a clue
Yeah if you really wanna give em something different
Something to sink their teeth into
Well baby, you just do what you do

The cost of living just went up today
Soon as you started doing things your way
You'll be shakin em off your coattails from every side
They'll be trying to catch that free ride

Hey don't give em what they think they want
Cause they don't have a clue
Yeah if you really wanna give em something different
Something to sink their teeth into

Well baby, you just do what you do
Just do what you do
Just do what you do
Just do what you do

Honey, I love you very much! Love always, your wife

Everyone else, I love you too! Have a wonderful day! :) Till Then, M-

Another post to enjoy..

Got this from Dad.. Thanks!

LIFE’S Little Instructions

Sing in the shower
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated
Watch a sunrise at least once a year
Leave the toilet seat in the down position
Never refuse homemade brownies
Strive for excellence, not perfection
Plant a tree on your birthday
Learn three clean jokes
Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full
Compliment three peoples every day
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them
Leave everything a little better than you found it
Keep it simple
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know
Floss your teeth
Ask for a raise when you feel you’ve earned it
Be forgiving of yourself and others
Over tip breakfast waitresses
Say “Thank You” a lot
Say “Please” a lot
Avoid negative people
Buy what ever kids are selling on card tables in their front yards
Wear polished shoes
Remember other people’s birthdays
Commit yourself to constant improvement
Carry jumper cables in your trunk
Have a firm hand shake
Send lots of valentine cards
Sign them, “someone who thinks you’re terrific.”
Look people in the eye
Be the first to say “Hello”.
Use the good silver
Return all the things you borrow
Make new friends but cherish the old ones
Keep secrets
Sing in a choir
Plant flowers every spring
Have a dog
Always accept an outstretched hand
Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life
Wave at kids on school buses
Be there when people need you
Feed a stranger’s expired parking meter
Don’t expect life to be fair
Never underestimate the power of love
Drink champagne for no reason at all
Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanations.
Don’t be afraid to say, “I made mistake”
Don’t be afraid to say, “ I don’t know”
Compliment even small improvement
Keep your promises (no matter what)
Having only for love rekindle old friendships
Count your blessings
Call your mother

Tonight, we met Justin's girlfriend for the first time.. Justin met her through the vampire website and found she lives the other side of Knoxville so they had been meeting at mall then tonight she came over to Oak Ridge to spend some time with Justin. She was shy, of course.. She seems nice but I am NOT ready for Justin to be dating.. I rather for Justin to stay little so I know he's not out there doing things I don't want him to be doing :) I guess it's time for me to snip, snip and snip the apron ties until it's all completed cut when he's ready to be on his own..

I am excited!!

Hello Everyone!

I'm excited that upcoming months are going to be busy with events such as holidays, birthdays, anniversary and of course a Graduation!

Sandy and I had an discussion this morning about having family dinner again.. Don't we love special Dinners!! I love it when we can get together and just enjoy good food to eat and chat among each other!

We will be having Easter/anniversary/birthday dinner as April 17th is my grandparents' 63rd wedding anniversary and April 25th will be my Gramps' 87th birthday.. Gramps is in pretty good health but of course bit slow due to his age but he's doing real good, I think for his age..
Can't wait to have the dinner together as we will be cooking the meal in foil altogether.. Chicken, potato, corn, and carrot cooked in foil. Don't it sounds good.. Dad and I ate that at Cracker Barrel years ago and we loved that! :)

THEN I'm considering having cook out here at our house May 6th celebrating Bucky's Graduation cooking burgers and hotdogs, potato salad, chips, pork beans as Bucky will be graduating on Friday the 5th. I feel this is real a milestone in Bucky's life that I want to celebrate..

Then Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Dad and Robert's birthday, July 4th, August birthdays (Mom, Justin, Tori and Ryan) , Labor Day, McMillan's anniversary, Wynn's Anniversary, Bucky's birthday, Granny's birthday, our anniversary, and so on.. You can imagine how often we have to get together and enjoy the dinners together!

David..

Hello everyone!

Once again, David has gotten in touch with us! We kinda of lost in touch after hearing from him in October.. I had been trying to text him but my sidekick was not able to send text messages for some reason (other story there!)

Mom called me on VP and said "GET ON AIM, David is online" So I got on and chatted with him for a bit.. It was long conversation but not much being said because he was on his cell phone and it takes him long time to type in that little phone so I was patient with him trying to get his replies in.. Then tonight, he finally got his laptop hooked up! So we finally chatted back and forth without so much delay! We were able to share some pictures!

It's always good to talk to him..

When David was here last July, he brought his two pomerians dogs and I fell in love with the white one.. The black was cute but he was bigger and the white was puppy.. So of course I fell in love with the puppy! The black dog was called Zip and the white was called Odie.. I let them run around in the house and go out in the yard as they lived in the truck and I'm sure they enjoyed the freedom for a couple of hours when they came inside..
David sent me the picture of Odie.. OMG! he has grown! :( Not that little polar anymore!

This was when Odie was little puppy and you can see Zip right by him.

Here's Odie, all grown!

For us, the dog lovers

I got this from Sandy, her sister in law sent this to her.. I agree with this.. That is why I have two dogs! :) I'm considering to add a kitten to the family! :) I love Buddy and Angel so much, They have their own personalities which makes them unqiue just like my children..

*****

IF I DIDN'T HAVE DOGS

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.

When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like the kennels.

When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.

I would not have strange presents under my Christmas tree -- dog bones, stuffed animals, nor would I have to answer to people why I wrap them.

I would not be on a first-name basis with three veterinarians.

The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE.

My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.

My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra Leash.

I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L-, F-R-I-S-B-E-E, or W-A-L-K.

I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.

I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog ties them down too much.

I would not think of spring and the melting of snow as mud season.

I would not have to answer the question, "Why do you have so many dogs?" from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by something as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How empty my life would be.

- author unknown but could be anyone of us. :-)

Link to share and pending marriage..

I got this from Mom so I decided to share.. I think its such a waste of time not permitting deaf people drive 15 passenger van or bus.. They CAN do it and Please move on from this.. Sheesh..

*****
PENDING MARRIAGE

My wonderful girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married. There was only one little thing bothering me. It was her beautiful younger sister.

My prospective sister-in-law was twenty-two, wore very tight miniskirts, and generally was bra less. One day "little" sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations.

She was alone when I arrived, and she whispered to me that she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome. She told me that she wanted to make love to me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.

Well, I was in total shock, and couldn't say a word. She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want one last wild fling, just come up and get me." I was stunned and frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs.

When she reached the top she pulled off her panties and threw them down the stairs at me. I stood there for a moment, then turned and made a beeline straight to the front door. I opened the door, and headed straight towards my car.

Lo and behold, my entire future family was standing outside, all clapping!

With tears in his eyes, my future father-in-law hugged me and said, "We are very happy that you have passed our little test.....we couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family."

And the moral of this story is:
Always keep your condoms in your car........

We are supposed to get some snow this weekend.. Mmmm.... Guess Winter doesn't want to leave us just yet! :)

News to share/discuss..

I was reading WBIR and found this link..

I don't know if they were really cold or a way for them to die together.. I can imagine turning on heat higher as my Granny has been complaining about their apartment being cold and wanting the heat on bit higher to be so warm because of her arthritis and my Gramps would be complaining that it is TOO hot in apartment..

Each time that anyone in family comes in their apartment, we would say "OH GOSH IT'S HOT IN HERE! We feel like it has NO air to share in that apartment".. Granny doesn't like when we say this but now reading this link. WOW! Didn't realize that it could have "heat stroke" Mmm.. Will have to share this with Granny and Gramps so they don't do this..

Losing weight by walking one step at a time That would be real good way to lose weight but with the weather that North is having, I would go to FLORIDA!! :) Way to go! I should do this! Mmmm.. I see that he has a lot of things coming up his way but he kept on walking and walking.. All the power to him!

Would you want this smart house?? I would like to have that luxury of having all lights turned off at once and having projector for TV etc BUT is it worth it?? mmmm..

We are having a lot of purses snatchers in first few months of 2006.. This happeend in Hospital elavator! and at Wal-Mart Be sure you put your wallet elsewhere not in your purse..

This Nun from Oak Ridge is going to federal prison..

"ADAPT"- TN Capitol closed to the protest..

Oak Ridge High School is on its way to be remodeled!

Stuff to tell..

Hello everyone!

We didn't get to do much this weekend.. I am still coughing and not feeling 100 percent well from my bronchitis so we didn't work on the flower bed.. I didn't get the hostas from Sandy but we decided it would be better to wait on getting the hostas from her because we are going to be adding more topsoil to the flower bed and putting railroad ties as the borders for the flower bed.. That should be complete soon so we can get the hostas planted! :)

It has gotten bit cold here but we have our heating off because it isn't that cold for heating.. :) I am hoping to save bunch of money from the heating costs before our cooling costs goes up when it gets very warm enough for us to turn on our ac unit..

Justin is excited that he's on his spring break this week so he can enjoy his time online chatting with his friends and working on his website on www.vampirefreaks.com trying to get points on his website..

Ryan is on his last week of vacation.. I truly enjoy every moment I have with him but I am ready for him to go to school! ha! He asks so many questions and demands my attention constantly which is real good but it can get tiresome after so long! LOL!

Tori is excited she's playing softball at TSD.. We bought her softball bat, ball, glove, batting glove and shoes so she can be all ready for her games at TSD.. I should be getting her schedule soon so we can go and watch her play pitcher..

Smiling, M-

Happy St Patrick's Day to you all! Hope you all have the luck of Irish with you today! :)

We are up and I have green shorts on but will be changing out of it soon into black pants! :)

What will you guys do this weekend? I am not very sure what we will be doing this weekend but from the looks of it, we will be spending some of our time at Clinton this weekend as Dad needs some help working on the flower bed.. It's good time to get those done so it will look so nice and pretty! :)

Have you guys planted anything yet?

We had some daffoils that Dad wanted out of his flower bed so I divided up some of those between Sandy and myself.. I have it planted already so hopefully they will bloom some before Spring is over.. We will be planting 6 hostas this weekend I hope..

Gotta go! :) M-

The Trip to PSTCC

The trip Bucky and I made today to PSTCC to order his graduation invitiation cards was wonderful but we discovered ordering the stuff he needed was expensive.. :(

They sold the invitiation cards individually not in bulk and it was $1.29 each card. And the name card, 25 cards for $15 dollars and gold seal stickers was 25 for $18 dollars.. Class Ring was over $400.00 and nothing less!

I thought "Wow, this could get very expensive!" Bucky decided not to buy a class ring because he would rather to spend $400 dollars on something else, but we bought # of invitiation cards and 25 name cards. So We will be mailing out his invitation cards soon. It is hard to believe that it is just 7 more Fridays after tomorrow (17th) for Bucky to walk down the stage! Won't be long!

Will take pictures of the graduation if we are not too far away from the stage and post it here..

I just got the news about Virginia Skinner from Wilson NC who had passed away this morning.. I remember her and her husband when I was growing up at ENCSD.. They would go to football, basketball games at ENCSD. They are always very nice and pleasant when they came around to the games. My parents knew them so whenever I see them, they would say "hello, how are you doing? How your parents?" the common questions being polite to children of the parents who they knew..

To the Skinner's family, our prayers and thoughts are with you all in this time of sorrow..

Good night Virginia, Sleep tight..

Slowly returning to the reality..

Hello Everyone..

I'm almost back to reality after being so sick with fever, coughing, colds and sore muscles that you would think I have flu but I don't.. I have bronchitis and it's no laughing matter! I am feeling some better today but I still have the coughs and runny nose (no, I don't have to chase it.)

Ryan was sick for 3 days that he nearly slept 3 days in a row and now he's back to his rambling self doing his stuff.. Thank goodness! Mom and Dad has been sick with flu this week.. I just hope that the rest of the family don't get the bug to be sick!

Last Sunday, Mom and Dad decided to host the taco salad at their house instead of my house because Dad wanted Bucky to help him with some landscaping work so we went over to their house and helped with the landscaping. Sandy and I went and picked up Granny and Gramps to come to the dinner. We enjoyed the dinner and Sandy took some pictures but I have not gotten the pics yet. After the dinner, Mom and Sandy took Granny and Gramps back home while Bucky and I along the kids went home.

*Hey Mom and Dad, in case we didn't express enough, THANKS FOR THE TACO SALAD! It was YUMMY!*

Will be posting more later on tonight if I'm still awake! :)

Picture of our house

Hello

I said I would post a picture of the house with the new shutters.. So here it is.. :) Don't that shutters complete the window look? I think it looks real good!

We are hoping to be able to get deck and driveway done by summer so we will post another picture of that when it's done ;)

I'm so excited!! Wonderful Saturday!

I'm so excited about today because Bucky and I FINALLY bought hunter green shutters and installed it this morning. We decided to do work around the house and got the shutters installed, moved plants around as we are getting the yard ready for our next project which will be deck/driveway.

I think the house looks real nice with the shutter and plants (azelea, pompas, spiraea anthony waterer) moved and mulched. I really can't wait to get our deck up and set up the driveway so we can park our car and van on our yard and be able to set up our hammock up, just sit and relax watching kids play in the yard. I was going to take picture of the house but DRATS, my batteries decided its life was expired! So I have to go store and buy some more batteries for the camera so I can take pictures of the work we have done today.. :)

That shows that we didn't get to do our quilting like I said we would be doing today.. :) It was so pretty outside and the project was perfect to do in that weather! Tomorrow we will be eating at Mom and Dad's for our taco dinner instead of my house because Dad has stuff he needs Bucky to help him with his yard :)

I am really LOOKING forward Spring! Bucky isn't because he has bad allergies when Spring comes.. Poor him but I'm so ready to shed the winter blues! :)

What did you do today on this beautiful weather if you are having the weather we are having? :)

This makes me BOIL!

Mom forwarded this to me from coloradodeaf.com which I have never heard of but this topic of discussion is NOTHING new to me.. Personally, I feel this is big bag full of shit! This is a issue that has come up in MANY MANY places all over world.. Just because a deaf parent and a hearing parent of hearing child doesn't mean that hearing person should raise the child primarily because of speech development.. That's totally bullcrap coming from ANY person who actually feels or think this way.. IF it was a reversal role, the child is deaf what would the same hearing person say??? I'm sure they will come up with any other lame excuse that they will be better fit to raise that child.. I will tell you a story after you read this one below..
****

My ex husband is battling for custody of my son and he thinks I'm unable to raise a hearing child due to my disablitity. Please email me at sunmoon_6@msn.com for any comments or a websites about deaf parents can raise hearing kids and doesn't cause learning disablitity due to lack of speech. Thank you.

Chris understand that normally the court feels that a child this young needs to spend the majority of his time with his mother, however there are extenuating circumstances in this case to where that scenario is not in the best interest of the child. Caleb's mother is deaf but does have some speech. Sarah's friend that she is residing with, Glenn is also deaf and non-verbal. The majority of Sarah's friends are deaf and non-verbal also. Since Sarah's deafness is due to a childhood illness and not genetic, Caleb is a normal hearing child. For these reasons, the time Caleb, a normal hearing child, spends with his mother at home or in a social setting is mostly non-verbal. Since Caleb is now learning to develop his speech and vocal patterns spending
the majority of his time this type of environment could cause developmental delays or even the possiblitiy of a permanent learning disability.

There are two instances that this situation is already starting to develop. Most of the Monday's that Chris has parenting time with Caleb, Caleb spends the enire day with out any vocalization at all, only signing to his father. When Chris has Caleb for the two days, usually by the second day, he starts to verbalize a little but the majority of his communication is through sign language. His mother, Sarah, is teaching sign language and that is important for him to know so he can communicate with his mother, the others that reside in her household and in social situations with her friends. Crhis also worked with Caleb, at Sarah's request, to keep him learn sign language. However, it is as equally if not more important for Caleb to learn speech and
vocalization since he is a normal hearing child.

The second situation has arisen from some of the vocalization that Caleb has learned. He
has recently learned how to scream, while playing, while getting excited about something he is doing or when mad. This is normal for all children to go through. Normally when a child screams the parent would guide the child about the time that screaming is appropriate and not appropriate, such as inside voices and outside voices. Unfortunely, with Sarah being deaf and spending most of her time in a deaf environment, she or anyone else around her cannot hear
Caleb when he screams. To the child there is nothing wrong with this. To them it is a new exciting thing they have learned to accomplish. Chris and Caleb's paternal grandmother have tried working with him to learn when this is appropriate and not appropriate, however with the limited amount of time that he is now spending with his father it has not yet been effective. This have developed to the point that when Sarah and Caleb were at her parents for the holidays, her parents talked to Sarah about it and told her she needed to talk to Chris about him working with Caleb about his screaming, which Sarah did. Chris explained to her that he and Caleb's paternal grandmother both had been trying but so far to no avail.

People accept inappropriate behaviors more from small children, however as Caleb continues to grow older, others will start to chatise him for thise behaviors, which could lead to changes in the way he interacts socially with others. Currently he is a sweet lovable and outgoing child who very much enjoys socializing with other individuals.

Chris is not asking the court to discrimiate against Sarah because of her disabiltiy but to recongize Caleb's rights to have the opportunity to develop like any other normal hearing child of 15 months of age. By allowing Caleb to spend an equal amount of time with his father in a
hearing and speaking environment as he does with his mother in a non-hearing and non-verbal environment will be in his best interest to help him develop more like the hearing and verbal child he is.

Hopefully, by Caleb spending equal time with both parents, he will develop normally for a
hearing and speaking child. However, in the future if a concern is expressed that there are developmental delays, testing should be done. If it is discerned that there are truly developmental delays parenting time should then changed to where Caleb's father becomes the primary caregiver in order for Caleb to spend more time in a hearing and verbal environment. Once it is discerned that Caleb is back to his appropriate age level in development, parenting time could then be changed back to being equally divided between both parents.

My parents was in same situation as I was with my Dad's family.. They thought my parents may not be able to raise Sandy correctly because they couldn't speak which led to bitter feelings between us and a particular Aunt who has now passed on..

When I was pregnant with Justin, I was asked by Bucky's Mom to leave the baby with her if the baby is hearing so the baby could learn to speak. I told her, "No way, the baby will learn speak when it's time for him to learn." I wouldn't need to leave the baby with anyone so they could learn to speak.. My parents raised my sister who is hard of hearing now but when she was younger, she could hear better and she learned to speak and was able to start interpreting for my parents at very YOUNG age like many CODA's all over America and world I'm sure..

When Justin was born, we found out that he's a hearing baby and we didn't leave him behind but took him with us whereever we moved to and he was able to speak at 8 months saying "Pop" then "Dada" etc. We sent him to preschool at age of 2 years old, they helped him with his speaking skills and he has been talking very well. Bucky's Mom has compliment us on child-rearing skills we have used. It made me feel real good that she acknowledges that we are very able to raise our hearing children as well as our deaf daughter..

NO MATTER WHAT disabilities a parent has, They has the option of being a good parent to their child and be able to provide the equipments needed for their child to develop skills for. They can get outside help if they desire such as Pre-school and play group..
