Heath Ledger

I discovered Heath Ledger as a actor when he played in the movie "Knight's Tale" WOW he's real good looking! I didn't know that Heath was going to be in this movie until Ridor posted this in his blog.. I saw this article on this link.. I'm going to watch this movie to see how it goes..

Heath Ledger says he didn’t enjoy smooching Jake Gyllenhaal in the man-on-man romantic cowboy flick, “Brokeback Mountain.” IGN FilmForce interviewed Matt Damon and Ledger, stars of “The Brothers Grimm,” and Ledger confessed that making “Brokeback Mountain” was “tough. It was a lonely experience, but it was definitely a real sense of accomplishment once I finished. It scared me [bleep]less.” What scared him? “You know, the idea I had to make out with Jake Gyllenhaal for one, which just wasn’t the easiest thing to do,” Ledger replied. “You found making out with me pretty easy though,” Damon quipped. “It was dark and I was drunk,” Ledger joked. “This was daytime and there was a lot of lights.”

Mom and Daddy in California

Mom and Daddy arrived California safely and amazing that Daddy actually sat at window side and looked out the window.. He seems to be very contented on the trip to California! OH BOY!! I'm so excited that he seems to do well on the flight so now we can make plans to fly to Miami Florida in 2007 for Deaf Cruise.. We will be going on the cruise and we were debating if we could fly or drive over there.. Since Daddy made it alright to California so we will make plans to FLY so it will be easier and quicker than driving hours on the road :)

here's pictures Mom took on her sidekick of Daddy..

Mom and Daddy leaving

Hello everyone!

Mom and Daddy left Tennessee Saturday to go to Charlotte NC to spend two nights at a friend's house then this morning, they went to airport in Charlotte to get on a plane to go to San Francisco Calif for Senior citizen convention..

Daddy is VERY afraid of height and it's amazing that he's actually at airport waiting to board the plane and actually fly.. He had cancelled a flight he was supposed to make with Sandy and I when we were younger to go to Louisville KY 15 years ago. He was very nervous about flying so he decided to let Sandy and I fly to KY while he drove to Louisville KY to stay with some family members and tour around for two weeks. Sandy and I flew back home to Raleigh NC and it was fun! I thought Daddy would cancel the trip for sure but guess he didn't cancel because there is no refund for cancellation or change date for the tickets so he didn't want to waste the money they paid for the tickets :) Mom and Daddy need this vacation to get away from it all and just enjoy themselves..

They will be coming back Sept 6th from Calif to NC then on 7th they will come back home to TN.. Looking forward to hear all the stories they have to tell when they return home..

Smiling, M-

"Cotton"

As you recalled I posted a news link to Hyattes that had shot and killed a guard and escaped to Columbus Ohio where they were found and arrested. They had been brought back to TN.. This link is to a event that is going to be held on Sept 24th, 2005..

Dog Park

When I read this article, I thought that's COOL thing to have in Oak Ridge.. I have two dogs but I don't know if they are friendly enough to play with other dogs in the park.. MMM I know my dogs gets along with my parents' and Sandy's dog but I'm not too sure about other strange dogs that they are not familiar with..

Otherwise, I have a fenced yard for the dogs to play and run.. It just works for us but it would be nice for them to play with other dogs IF they are that friendly! :)

Sweet Justice

This was in Oak Ridger today.. I wanted to post this article.. I'm happy the family could be together for birth of their daughter..

This young man...

The young man in this photo went to a place called Sundarbans with his friends and he asked his friends to take this photo on this spot. While his friend took the photo, he screamed and fainted, 2 days later he died in hospital. The doctors said he died from a heart attack. When the photos where developed, in the last photo there was a woman standing next to the young man, even though his friends said there was no one with him when the photo was taken.

Many people know of this rumor and the photo is the result of the blessings of technology. But still, the photo is very mysterious and I'm sure that when you see it you will feel the same as me.

Here's the photo!!

A Naval Officer sent it to 13 people and he was promoted within 13 days. A businessman was sent this and he erased it and with in 13 days he lost everything. A laborer received this and sent it to 13 people and within days he was promoted and all his problems were solved.
So send this to 13 people and good things will come your way. Don't be lazy what have you got to lose?

** I'm posting this so I don't have to send 13 people but to many people who comes through :) so now FORWARD THIS!! ;)

Tori got pierced!

Tori has been wanting to get a cartlidge pierced for a long time and she got enough money from her birthday party to be able to get one done. We went to Wal-Mart and she picked out what she wanted to use for her piercing and it was barbell single..

The lady proceed to mark and Tori approved of the place.. The lady got set up and was ready to pierce, I told Tori "she's ready" Tori held in her breath and SNAP the earring is in but it also was pierced through the lady's latex glove so had to cut the glove off..

Now I'm TEMPTED to get one too! I think it's COOL! I may be getting one soon or if the phase passes for me LOL..

To Justin and Ryan

When I first married Bucky, I didn't get along with Bucky's Mom very well. Looking back, I realized now that there is bond that a Mom has with her son(s) that is so strong that she would want the best for them. I am glad that I get along with her now and I truly do respect her very much.

Now I have two sons and I want the best for them and I also want to protect them from bad, danger, wrong path of life but I know they need to face it themselves to become strong and be able to face the big scary world. Justin is wanting to move to Japan after finishing school, I don't want him to be that far away from home but that has been his lifelong dream eversince he was little boy. Ryan is still young and wants to be close to his Mom (I am relieved that he still wants to stay close to me)

To Justin and Ryan,

I hope that I will have good relationship with the person that you will decide to share your life with and be able to love that person as much as I love you. You both will always be my sons no matter what happen and I will always love you and have special place for you in my heart. Make me proud of you both as you are on your journey to your future.. Be wise and be smart in things you do.

Love, Mom

The weekend begins...

Bucky and I went to post office to check our mail this morning and set on our long planned day by going to PSTCC for Bucky to sign some papers before school starting on 29th and to Boy Scout store to look at the costs of uniform for Ryan as he wanted to join Cub Scout starting next week.. OH MY GOODNESS the prices are not that kind.. Mmmmm.. Then we went to TSD to pick up Tori and her friend Heather and went to see Granny and Gramps for a brief visit before heading back home..

Tori, Heather, Ryan, Bucky and I went to China Super Buffet for dinner after searching an hour for Justin. He went to a friend's house without stopping by home to let us know where he went, Bucky and I was furious and gave up looking for an hour and left message at the Barony where Justin usually hangs out with his friends to call Sandy.. After eating our dinner, we went home and was told by neighbors that Justin came home and got a ride to Barony so we went to Barony's to pick up Justin and went to Clinton..

Sandy had Heather's medicine that Tori's teacher had gave her to give to us.. The teacher forgot to give Heather the medicine before we left and she had called Sandy to see if she could get a hold of us and with that phone call, they found out that Sandy's working under her Dad in Corporation office so the teacher came to visit her Dad then met Sandy to give her the medication.. Small world!

Here's a picture of Tori and Heather tonight..

Tomorrow will be a full day with preparation of the birthday party for the kids.. OH BOY! Gotta go to Wal-Mart to get three birthday cakes, some drinks and probably some ice cream (I am not sure about ice cream due to the fact the temps outside are HOT HOT HOT!) and prepare big lunch so that way the kids can enjoy swimming instead of having big dinner and not able to swim a lot... :)

On other subject, here's the picture of Bucky and his war wound..
Don't go drooling over him being half naked in the pic, He's married! LOL.. :)

Bucky

Bucky went to see the surgeron today to have a minor surgery to be done in Dr's office.. His appt was at 2 pm but the doctor FINALLY got to see Bucky at 2:45, that's typical anyway! It took about 10 minutes altogether for him to cut that cyst and sew Bucky up. He has parafoccial (spelled wrong) cyst.. It's really "ingrown hair" turned into a cyst so it's out and he will be fine.

Now he's sleeping for a while until dinner.. I get to play nursemaid babying him today.. :)

Happy Birthday to you Justin!

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to Dear Justin
Happy Birthday to you!

Today you turn 14 years old and I'm getting old! :( SMILE! It won't be long before you be in high school and all grown up ! Don't be in such a hurry..

Love you always, Mom

Realizing

Hey! I realized that my one year anniversary of having this blog has passed! I didn't realize that I had started in August 2004... UMMmmmm so I am still here and this blog is still going so I guess this is good thing! :)

I know this blog is not as interesting or dramatic as Ridor's but this is my space to tell things that affect me, and people I love and the news among us.. ;)

News and a letter..

Hello Everyone! Good morning!!

Are you all awake yet?? I am awake but still have a slow morning!

I went to Parkway sleep center last night to have another sleep test done with CPAP machine.. They will be sending over a machine for me to use at home a week to see how things goes.. So I will see how it goes and post it here :) CPAP was not that bad, I slept pretty alright last night even though I had a lot of wires and the CPAP to pull around when I wanted to toss and turn..

200,000th Habitat House was dedicated last Sunday in Knoxville.. Congrats to the family on the milestone!

One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So he called one of His angels and sent the angel to Earth for a time.

When he returned, he told God, Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not.

God thought for a moment and said, Maybe I better send down a second angel to get another opinion. So God called another angel and sent him to Earth for a time too. When the angel returned he went to God and said, Yes, it's true. The Earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good.

God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% that were good, because He wanted to encourage them. Give them a little something to help them keep going.

Do you know what the e-mail said?

By following the simple advice I heard on a Dr. Phil Show, I have finally found inner peace.

Dr. Phil proclaimed the way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started.

So I looked around my house to see things I started and hadn't finished; and, before leaving the house this morning I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bottle of Baileys, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreo's, a pot of coffee, the rest of the Cheesecake, some Saltines and a box of Godiva Chocolates.

You have no idea how good I feel.
Please pass this on to those you feel are in need of inner peace

*Thanks to Vicki for forward this to me too :)

Gas prices keep climbing

By: Leean Tupper Oak Ridge Staff
leean.tupper@oakridger.com

$2.27, $2.28, $2.35, $2.45. You might think that's what you would pay for a magazine, a beer at a local restaurant, a cheap pack of cigarettes, or a soda at the movies. But, think again - that was the cost of one gallon of gasoline at various gas stations in Oak Ridge and Oliver Springs around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Tim Lennon, chief financial officer for The Hollingsworth Companies (owner of Git-n-Go Markets) in Clinton, said he thinks the continuing rise in prices of gasoline will hurt people and businesses.

Around 9 a.m. Friday, Git-n-Go raised its price to $2.38 per gallon. On Aug. 5, the cost was
$2.29 per gallon, Lennon said.

"Any time prices get up this high, it's not good for any business, because people have to pay for gas, rather than having money for movies and lunches out. As it continues to rise, I think everybody pays the price, including us, because we have less money for inventory inside the store," Lennon said.

With talk flying nationwide about the possibility of seeing $3 per gallon of gasoline before the summer's end, Lennon said it wouldn't surprise him if that happens here.

"This time last year, we were looking at $1.75 (per gallon)," he said.

"They're going up and we've got no control over it," said Steve Kirkham, owner of Rocky Top Markets. "We just got an 8-cent per gallon increase from our supplier overnight. It's gone up 25 cents in the last two weeks," he said. "I don't like it for us and I don't like it for our customers."
On Friday the average price of one gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Knoxville was $2.25; up 4 cents from two days before, according to Barbara Valentine in the public relations department for AAA of East Tennessee.

"The Knoxville area is the cheapest of any area across the state," Valentine said Friday morning.
"Analysts say jitters about possible oil supply interruptions in Iran and Saudi Arabia, plus refinery problems in the United States have pushed both oil and gasoline prices to new records," Don Lindsey, who oversees AAA of East Tennessee, said in last week's "Fuel Gauge Report."
Valentine said gasoline prices in Chattanooga on Friday were $2.296; Memphis was $2.297; Nashville was $2.306. "It's a record high," she said.

AAA of East Tennessee recommends that drivers make sure their cars are in good shape, use public transit systems where possible, and combine trips to reduce gasoline use.

Bucky's Mom

We just found out yesterday that Bucky's Mom has been in hospital since last Thursday.. She has been staying with her sister Libby in Florida and was having a lot of pains in kidney area so she decided to go to ER to do some test as she thought maybe it was UTI and discovered that she did have UTI AND kidney stones so she's supposed to have some tests and try to break the kidney stones today.. I have not heard anything yet so I will be checking in with her to make sure everything alrite.. She's hoping to be able to go back to NC this week.. I think she's homesick for NC :)

The family is having a big bash for Bucky's Grandparents who will be celebrating their 60th anniversary on Sept 3rd but we will have Anniversary dinner at Captain Galley seafood in Stony Point NC on August 27th. Hopefully everyone in the family will be able to show up, 6 children (one daughter has passed away) and 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.. Can you imagine how many tables and chairs that will fill up with everyone showing up?? ha ha.. I doubt everyone will show up anyway..

They are having everyone donating some money into the fund and getting them central AC and heat as they had been using kerosense (sp?) heat and it wasn't that good for their health so I think they will really enjoy that new AC/heat center very much..

Smiling! M-

August 20th

August 20th will be a busy and crazy day for us as we will be having a birthday party for three kids at Civic Center swimming in their indoor pool.

We are having guests of 50 people this weekend if everyone shows up! We will be swimming in the pool for 2 hours from 6 to 8 pm then have cake and drinks outside and open gifts if the kids are getting any.. We will be giving kids something at the party so they will have something from Bucky and me.

Tori will be having some friends from TSD coming spending the weekend with us. I kinda of dread that because they are preteens and of course WILD! LOL

I had been getting kids to clean up their room so they will have presentable rooms :) We are doing laundry so hopefully things will be in their places before Friday and be all ready for the chaotic events this weekend :)

Smiling, Mary

Tomorrow is the day!

Tomorrow is the day that ALL THREE KIDS will be in school! HORRAY!!

Justin will begin his 8th grade year tomorrow at RMS.. I'm excited that Bucky and I will have some quiet time during the day while kids are gone until Bucky goes back to PSTCC on 29th..

Justin will be in school only for 1/2 day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and start full day on Thursday and Friday.. He will be celebrating his 14th birthday on Wednesday..

A Witty Senior's Response

Subject: A Witty Senior's Response

A college student at a recent Carolina football game challenged a senior citizen sitting next to him, saying it was impossible for their generation to understand his. "You grew up in a different world," the student said loud enough for the whole crowd to hear.

"Today we have television, jet planes, space travel, man has walked on the Moon, our spaceships have visited Mars, we even have nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers with light-speed processing, and, uh ."

Taking advantage of a pause in the student's litany, the geezer said, "You're right. We didn't have those things when we were young; so we invented them, you little shit! Now what the hell are you doing for the next generation??"

I love senior citizens!

Thanks to Vicki for sending me this via email.. When I saw that, I laughed and know it's true. We have those things to thank for from the generation before ours. We now need to make things better instead of having WAR and HIGH prices for our children and the next generation!

Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim!

My parents had company this week and there is no one better than Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim to come and visit..

Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim along with Angel (Angel liked the attention from Aunt Nancy!)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I had posted about them earlier in the post.. They have been family friends for so long that I call them Aunt and Uncle.. They knew me and Sandy eversince we were born..

They came with Mom and Dad to visit me yesterday.. Showed them the house, sat down and chat for a while.. I enjoyed having them over to visit! Hope they will be back to visit soon! It would be real nice if we (the Carvers) go up to Delaware to visit them in their upcoming new house as they will have a new house in month of Sept replacing their cottage that has been place of retreats for many people along the years..

I remember a couple of visits that I have made to the cottage, going to the beach and play around the cottage with Mark and Joni.. It was always fun over there..

Here's pictures of Aunt Nancy, Uncle Jim, Mom and Dad!

Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim, Thanks for coming to our house and I enjoyed having you! We love you very much and have safe trip to NC and home when you are ready to go home.. :)
